Service Beneficiaries
Alzheimer’s & Dementia
One of the first cases Bloom Homecare signed on for was a couple, both afflicted with Alzheimer’s disease. We continue to provide care for this couple in the comfort of their home. Since then, one of Blooms’ specialty care programs has focused on clients with Alzheimer’s and other dementia issues. We have developed a care plan based on continuity of service with the same caregiver to provide an environment with a comfort level necessary for your loved ones.
Today, about half of our clients enjoy this program and spare their loved ones the need to be placed in a nursing home. Our live-in signature program is ideal for clients with Alzheimer’s who live alone and has proven to be the most cost-effective plan to provide care around the clock.
Bloom can help in recommending and implementing changes at your home to render it to become more Alzheimer’s friendly. To ensure a thorough approach, a room-by-room checklist can be helpful.
Arthritis
Osteoarthritis (OA), the most common form of arthritis, affects about 27 million Americans. OA symptoms usually include pain, stiffness, and swelling in and around the joints. It can make daily activities more difficult thus, leading to frustration, weariness, and depression. However, in most cases, people with osteoarthritis can lead full and active lives by managing the condition properly.
Bloom Homecare can help alleviate some of the pressures of daily living by offering a range of services to enhance the quality of life for those afflicted with this disease. Such services include light housekeeping, meal preparation, laundry, and assisting in exercises and physical activities.
Heart Disease
Heart disease is the #1 cause of death among Americans. According to The American Heart Association (AHA), 2,200 Americans die of cardiovascular disease each day, an average of 1 death every 39 seconds.
Bloom has cared for clients with heart disease and has developed experience in providing adequate home care. Through its roster of care providers, Bloom will identify the most suitable care provider to care for your loved one in the comfort of your home. This program includes the implementation of a healthy diet, monitoring and administration of medication, and helping with the activities of daily living.
Diabetes
Living with diabetes, despite being effectively managed, can be tough at times. Every day is a new hurdle with unique challenges that you must overcome. Bloom can help your loved one manage the disease through coordination of a healthy meal plan, encouraging and implementing an exercise schedule, weight watching, and medication reminders and administration. The benefits of being active are numerous, especially for someone with diabetes.
Bloom has a range of properly trained personnel (RN, caseworker, LPNs, and CNAs) who are available to monitor sugar levels and give insulin injections whenever necessary.
Stroke and Other Illnesses
Stroke is the leading cause of severe long-term disability in the United States. Each year, about 795,000 people suffer a stroke. During stroke recovery, the impact on the family can be monumental. The recovery process can be frustrating and exhausting. Your loved one may be forced into the unfamiliar position of being dependent on others for the most personal tasks such as dressing, eating, bathing, and toileting.
Families are often faced with the immediate need to find someone to help their loved ones while adjusting to this new reality. This is where Bloom Homecare and our trained team of care providers come in handy and are available to provide the personal care families are looking for.
Since its inception, Bloom has provided personal care to stroke-ridden clients and introduced a level of comfort rarely found in the most luxurious facilities. As one of our care recipients put it: “Being handicapped by illness is very difficult, but knowing that Kimberly (Bloom Homecare) is there for me is a blessing. I heartily endorse her in every way.”
Cancer Recovery
Cancer can be devastating news to the person diagnosed with it as well as to their families. This disease which claims the lives of over 560,000 yearly, ranks the 2nd highest cause of death in the country. Currently, 1 in 4 deaths in the United States is due to cancer. We at Bloom Homecare receive requests to provide care for cancer clients regularly. Our cancer care and support program helps the client adjust to a new reality while maintaining a level of independence in the comfort of their home.
Hospice Care and Support
Bloom Homecare provides continuous humane and compassionate care for people in the last phases of an incurable disease so that they may live as fully and comfortably as possible. Bloom has care providers experienced in providing end-of-life care for people in the comfort of their own homes. One of our clients put it best by writing: “We are very grateful that your services allowed our father to fulfill his final wish – to die peacefully in his own home. Without Bloom, his final days might have been upsetting and frightening.” We work in conjunction with skilled hospice facilities to provide this scope of care.
Parkinson’s Disease
Parkinson’s disease does not just affect the person living with it. It affects the entire family. If you are the child, parent, grandparent, relative, or caregiver to a person with Parkinson’s, you are familiar with how challenging this disease can be.
Your responsibilities may include helping a loved one with daily activities, managing medications, and providing personal care, including transferring and toileting. Several of our care providers have the skill set and the experience to attend to the personal needs of an individual with Parkinson’s.
